This online course was jointly developed by the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law with six leading universities from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Philippines, and Thailand. This course aims to provide basic knowledge of the interlinkages between human rights and the climate change, disaster, and human mobility nexus.

Upon completion of this course, participants are expected to acquire the following competencies:

  1. Possess an emphatic awareness of the importance of human rights and understand how social factors contribute to different exposure and vulnerability to displacement risk, in the context of climate change and disaster
  2. Possess the knowledge to explain how Human Rights-based Approach is relevant in addressing displacement in the context of climate change and disaster
  3. Able to describe effective practices for addressing displacement in the context of climate change and disaster, based on insights and examples from countries in the Asia Pacific region
  4. Able to identify and describe international standards and guidelines that are relevant for addressing displacement in the context of climate change and disaster

This is a self-paced course and participants will receive a certificate upon completion of all course requirements.
