Liqhobong Mining Development Company (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Firestone Diamonds PLC, invites suitably qualified and competent Basotho to apply for the vacant position of Human Resources Superintendent in the Human Resources department.

Job purpose

Responsible for formulation of Human Resources Strategic direction for the whole organisation. The position further provides leadership and technical support to Exco, Human Resources  Team and Contractors.

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Support Services Manager, the incumbent will carry out the following duties and responsibilities;

  • Develop the HR strategy in alignment with the business objectives;
  • Prepare for Exco & board approval, the HR budget required to implement the HR mandate;
  • Develop and maintain the HR Risk Management framework and ensure compliance thereof;
  • Develop, implement, and review appropriate Human Resources policies and procedures;
  • Design a strategic workforce plan which meets the needs of the organization in consultation with line management ;
  • Formulate a learning and development plans for the organization that are aligned with organizational goals, compliant to legislation and standards to improve employee’s ability to perform and achieve company objectives;
  • Establish an appropriate performance management system relevant to the needs of the organization;
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of an appropriate reward strategy aligned with business objectives and organizational culture;
  • Formulate employee wellness strategy, policy, and relevant HR procedures to promote and manage wellness programmes and risks;
  • Ensure capacity building and compliance to relevant labour legislation and international standards;
  • Formulate appropriate employment relations plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure SHE standards are applied and adhered to by all Human Resources employees, consultants, and visitors.

Legal and other requirements

  • Police clearance and medical examinations of fitness;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Willingness to undergo the Mine’s Integrity Tests;
  • Medical examinations of fitness.

Qualifications and experience

  • Eight (8) years operational experience in Human Resources field , with at least 5 years in middle management role within Mining Industry or similar medium-large entities
  • A Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Management, or equivalent
  • Postgraduate Degree in Human Resources Management, or equivalent,
  • Master’s degree in human resources management will be an added advantage.
