Job Vacancy: Human Resources Officer

The Lesotho National Development Corporation (LNDC), a parastatal established under the LNDC Act No. 20 of 1967 (as amended), is mandated to initiate, promote, and facilitate the development of manufacturing and processing industries, mining, and commerce in a manner that raises income and employment levels in Lesotho.

LNDC invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Human Resources Officer.


Purpose of the Role

To partner with management on strategic priorities such as talent management, employee engagement, organisational effectiveness, and change management. The incumbent will also advise and coach employees on driving LNDC’s values and culture.
Reports to: Human Resources Manager


Key Responsibilities

1. Resource Management
  • Identify and request resource needs within own area of responsibility.
  • Ensure optimal use of assets and resources.
  • Support resource allocation to meet departmental goals.
2. Stakeholder Relations
  • Communicate effectively with relevant departments and stakeholders.
  • Provide advice and support to managers and employees on employment practices, contracts, and benefits.
  • Foster strong working relationships across the organisation.
3. Business Partnering
  • Proactively partner with business units to identify workforce impacts and HR solutions.
  • Support performance appraisal processes and related appeals.
  • Research and advise on future workplace trends and HR best practices.
  • Design and deliver high-impact HR initiatives that align with LNDC goals.
4. Employee Experience
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues to ensure alignment of tools, policies, and engagement initiatives.
  • Promote a positive and high-performance organisational culture.
5. Talent Management
  • Support the implementation of talent management and succession planning programs.
  • Review and develop job descriptions and grading structures.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities, including job postings, shortlisting, and interviews.
  • Facilitate onboarding and induction processes.
  • Deliver training and capacity-building initiatives per the HR training calendar.
6. Capacity Building & Change Management
  • Coach managers to anticipate and address organisational issues.
  • Support diagnosis and planning for organisational change.
  • Develop frameworks to manage change processes, risks, and dependencies.

Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum Qualification: Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Contract Type: Permanent and Pensionable.
