Responsible To: Human Resources Manager
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Officer is responsible for ensuring the provision of technical services in all aspects of human resource management.
Key Performance Areas / Main Duties
A. Technical Roles: Strategic, Leadership and Supervisory
- Undertakes human resource demand and supply forecasting (manpower planning, future changes in policing laws)
- Conducts job analysis, work studies, and surveys
- Handles disciplinary cases, grievances, disputes, and employee safety
- Administers training, development, and performance management systems
- Oversees recruitment and supervision of staff
- Implements HR policies, plans, and decisions
- Draws budgets and determines equipment needs
- Ensures compliance and ethics
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate must possess:
- Master’s Degree in HRM, Industrial Psychology, or Public Administration/Management
OR - Postgraduate Diploma in HRM, Industrial Psychology, or Public Administration/Management plus 1 year relevant work experience
OR - BA Degree in HRM, Industrial Psychology, or Public Administration/Management plus 3 years relevant work experience
Key Skills and Competencies
- Interpretation of the Labour Act 2024
- Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills
- Appreciation of HR principles
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work outside normal working hours
- Must be registered as a voter with IEC
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
