The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) is an independent and autonomous body and is the Supreme Audit Institution in Lesotho. OAG is responsible for auditing government revenue and spending and to oversee the management of public funds and the quality and credibility of government’s reported financial data.

OAG invites applications from suitably qualified local candidates for the following positions:

CORE DESCRIPTION

Under the direct supervision of the Director Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for the provision of human resource services to  line  management  and  to  provide  a  framework  for  maintaining  good relationships between management and employees.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

•     Develops recruitment, mobility, utilization and succession plan

•     Maintains the work structure by updating job descriptions for all positions.

•     Participates in employee recruitment and selection processes

•     Holds orientation and organise training programs for employees

•     Provides technical input in preparing and reviewing training needs for all directorates.

•     Analyses data for the annual training plan and compiles the initial draft.

•     Consolidates training and development budget submitted by directorates.

•     Select suitable training and development courses to ensure alignment with organisational objectives.

•     Analyses payroll related data and compiles HR monthly reports

•     Counsels and guides staff on HR matters and personal issues that influence staff performance.

•     Conducts period pay survey and prepare budgets

•     Ensure planning monitoring and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees.

•     Compiles directorates’ objectives and workplans

•     Allocates HR tasks and appraises performance of staff

•     Appraises the impact of training and development actions at all levels for both on the job and formal training.

•     Oversee timely processing of benefits pertaining to staff terminations.

QUALIFICATIONS

•    Master’s degree in Human Resource Management/Industrial Relations, or any other related field from a recognised institution.

EXPERIENCE

•    A minimum of six (6) years’ experience in managing human resources,
     three (3) of which should have been at senior level in an organization of similar size to OAG.
