Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Human Resource and Administration Manager; the Human Resource Officer is responsible for providing assistance to the Human Resources functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Human Resources Officer is responsible for:

  • Maintain awareness of and compliance with the Foundation’s Human Resources Policies and procedures as well as local labor laws.
  • Assisting the Human Resource and Administration Manager in recruitment, selection and on boarding activities.
  • Maintain the Foundation employee record keeping and confidentiality.
  • Assisting in performance, conduct and behavior management. 
  • Management of personnel data.
  • Assisting in the compensation and employee benefit management.
  • Assisting in training and development of staff.
  • Maintaining employee motivation and morale building activities.
  • Managing the staff leave data base.
  • Communicating any changes on Policies and Procedures to staff.
  • Monitoring ensuring that the Foundation Safety and Security Policies and Procedures are adhered to.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Human Resources or Public Administration
  • An experience and knowledge of USAID and CDC rules and procedures will be added advantage
  • Must have at least 3 years work experience in the field of Human Resources in NGOs
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of labor law issues will be added advantage
  • Good interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skill
