POST: HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER/ADMINISTRATOR

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a position of Human Resource Officer/administrator at Maluti Adventist College (MAC). The incumbent will be responsible for providing support in the various human resources functions, which include, but not limited to, recruitment, training and development, performance monitoring and employees counselling. He/she will be responsible for meeting all administrative goals of MAC and the Seventh – day Adventist (SDA) standards. He/she will serve in the administrative and HR management activities and services of the college in compliance with local/national laws, standards and SDA regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will be expected to:

  • Oversee the college operations and management of different departments
  • Coordinate and ensure that meetings and other college activities are run according to plans and policies of the college
  • Provide support to supervisors and staff by equipping them with skills and capabilities to enable them to function optimally in their different areas of work
  • Facilitate in development, and application of work policies and procedures for the college
  • Monitor staff performance and attendance to daily activities as required by their job specifications
  • Facilitate the recruitment and orientation of new staff joining the college
  • Guide staff including supervisors on issues related to human resource and management as applicable in different workrelated areas
  • Coordinate and provide support to college administrative activities
  • Coordinate all labour related issues that may emanate in the college and to ensure that they are handled by assigned persons accordingly

PERSONAL QUALITIES

The incumbent must have the following personal qualities that will enable him or her to function well in the college: Must be a mature individual who is conversant with the seventh Day Adventist philosophy and values. Professional and businesslike in demeanour; honest and of high integrity; strong interpersonal skills; assertiveness; interpersonal skills; ability to build strong professional relationships with ability to work comfortably with diff erent stakeholders in any multi-cultural environment; ability to conceptualize and solve problems; to be results oriented and “hands-on” in all managerial issues; to be energetic and enthusiastic person open to new ideas and a good “team player”

QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Human Resource Management (or equivalent) with at least 3-5 years relevant experience working in the similar environment
  • Sound in management of an educational or health institution
  • High level of proficiency in relevant computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Having Diploma /Degree in Business Administration will be an added advantage.
  • Being familiar with SDA working policies and practices will be an added advantage.

SALARY

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
