Summary: The U.S. Mission in Maseru, Lesotho is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Human Resource Clerk.

The work schedule for this position is:

•             Full Time (40 hours per week)

Start date:  Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Supervisory Position:  No.

Duties:  Perform a variety of general administrative/HR duties in the Human Resources Office.

Responsible for and serves as the Locally Employed Staff (LE Staff) expert in a variety of areas such as recruitment, performance evaluation, time and attendance, awards, and in- and out-processing for both American employees and LE Staff, and insurance plans.  Position reports to the HR Assistant through the Management Officer.

Qualifications and Evaluations

EDUCATION:  Diploma in Human Resource is required. Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:  A minimum of two years of progressively responsible office experience in a demanding and high-profile customer service or human resource office.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Standard office management procedures and use of office machines. Knowledge of English to accurately draft written documents using proper grammar and pose. Good understanding of host government procedures as it pertains to accreditation and visa processing. Familiarity with host country prevailing practices and customs as they apply to the workforce.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:  Level 3 (good working knowledge) in English is required.
                         Level 3 (good working knowledge) in Sesotho is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills in order to deal effectively with a broad range of embassy and external individuals. Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft applications. Proactive work ethic, good judgement, tact, diplomacy, respect for diversity and ability to maintain personnel-sensitive information with professionalism. Attention to detail, ability to priority workload, and ability to work under short deadlines.

Qualifications:  All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
