Responsible to: Assistant Human Resource Officer
Job Summary
Under close supervision of the Assistant Human Resources Officer, the incumbent is responsible for processing, verifying, and maintaining documentation relating to teachers’ activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations and classifications.
Main Duties
1.1. Updates staff list and salary bill of teachers.
1.2. Initiates work on appointments, confirmations and promotions of teachers.
1.3. Arranges for advertising or posting of job vacancies, and notify eligible workers of position availability.
1.4. Processes and review employment applications in order to evaluate qualifications or eligibility of applicants.
1.5. Deals with leave calculations, transfers and retirements.
1.6. Prepares casualty returns and other relevant documents for transmission to Treasury, Teaching Service and Audit etc.
1.7. Maintains and updates personnel records for Teachers (paper and electronic) and record leave and staff changes.
1.8. Maintains the HR Data Base and regularly update the personnel information.
1.9. Performs other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Job Specification
Diploma in Human Resources Management or Personnel Management plus five (5) years working experience in the field of Human Resources.
Other Critical Competencies
Practical knowledge of Basic Education Act 2010 and Teaching Service Regulations.
