Job Title: Hub Field Coordinator– Natural Resource Management and Landscape Restoration  Reports to: ROLL Project Manager

Job Summary

The Hub Field Coordinator– Natural Resource Management and Landscape Restoration leads coordination of ROLL project hub activities, facilitating achievement of project objectives through coordinating, implementing, and reporting on project activities, and providing technical guidance and support to staff and implementing partners in line with CRS standards.

The role supports sub‑catchment level implementation of ROLL and SIA, while contributing field‑level data, insights, and monitoring inputs to strengthen data quality, learning, and adaptive management, ensuring the project applies best practices and continuously improves its impact for the communities we serve.

Roles and Key Responsibilities

 Project Implementation, Coordination, and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead and coordinate implementation of assigned ROLL project activities in line with workplans, CRS program quality standards, and donor requirements.
  • Facilitate land restoration and soil health interventions at community level, ensuring inclusive, youth‑ and gender‑responsive participation.
  • Support establishment and strengthening of regeneration coalitions and promote community ownership.
  • Coordinate activities among partners, community structures, and district stakeholders, serving as a liaison to mobilize local actors and promote project impact.
  • Facilitate coordination and problem‑solving sessions and ensure alignment of multi‑sector interventions.
  • Prepare and share coordination, supervision, and troubleshooting notes capturing bottlenecks, decisions, and follow‑up actions.

Monitoring, Reporting, and Learning

  • Collect, verify, and report field‑level data using standardized ROLL and SIA tools and protocols.
  • Support measurement of soil health and land restoration indicators and ensure accurate, complete, and timely records.
  • Conduct routine data verification and basic data quality checks; flag inconsistencies and support corrective actions.
  • Provide validated field data and insights to support analysis, dashboards, reporting, and alignment with district datasets.
  • Ensure systematic documentation of implementation progress, supervision findings, lessons learned, and community feedback.
  • Contribute to supervision reports, learning briefs, case studies, and adaptive management processes, including project evaluation and reflection.
  • Support and guide partners in reflection and learning processes based on implementation experience.
  • Support collection and validation of field‑level biophysical and land use data required for soil loss estimation using RUSLE (Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation), ensuring alignment with district data systems and technical guidance.

Technical Support, Operations, and Compliance

  • Support supervision, backstopping, and capacity strengthening of partners and Coalition Facilitators.
  • Track and implement agreed actions from supervision, data reviews, and reflection sessions.
  • Identify implementation and coordination challenges, facilitate solutions, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Oversee adherence to implementation standards, procedures, and timelines through routine field monitoring.
  • Conduct routine and ad‑hoc field checks to ensure compliance with agreed standards and procedures.
  • Support tracking of resources and ensure proper use and documentation in line with CRS and donor requirements.
  • Support basic monitoring of resource utilization and flag variances to support budget oversight.
  • Coordinate logistical and administrative support and maintain complete project documentation for reporting, audits, and learning.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of work experience in project support, ideally in the field of Natural Resource Management and Landscape Restoration and for an NGO.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Further education in International Relations or in the field of Natural Resource Management and Landscape Restoration would be a plus.
  • Experience working with partners, participatory action planning and community engagement.
  • Experience monitoring projects and collecting relevant data.
  • Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Good relationship management skills and the ability to work closely with local partners
  • Proactive, results-oriented and service-oriented
  • Attention to details, accuracy and timeliness in executing assigned responsibilities

Required Languages: Sesotho and English

Travel: include percentage of required travel, if applicable. Could be stated as Must be willing and able to travel up to 80%.
