Overview:

Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho. The Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho (BCMCFL), is the result of a public-private partnership between Baylor College of Medicine International Pediatric AIDS Initiative and the Government of Lesotho, and is a legal, non-profit/tax exempt organization registered in Lesotho. BCMCFL provides free paediatric and family-centered HIV and tuberculosis prevention, care, treatment and support, serving thousands of children and families affected by HIV, TB, or other child health conditions.

BCMCFL is looking for highly qualified candidates to fill in the following positions on a Four (4) Months  Fixed-Term,  renewable Contract.

Position Descriptions

HTS & PSS Lead Counselor

Reports to: Senior Advisor Prevention

Department: ETHICS Project

Duty Station(s): Mokhotlong(1)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead development and implementation of HTS, HIV prevention and continuity on ART strategies to reach untested and underserved populations.
  • Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and supervision of these activities for lay Cousellors at each site
  • Ensure that Lay Counsellors are providing HTS, HIV prevention and continuity on ART at supported sites and documenting activities appropriately
  • Lead, conduct and support activities to scale up index testing and partner notification, HIVST, and inpatient testing at the health facility according to the MoH guidelines and
  • Ensure optimization of PITC to increase positivity yield
  • Ensure accurate monitoring and evaluation activities for each site
  • Collect and capture HTS data monthly or as required for each site and report accordingly
  • In collaboration with LENASO personnel, participate in community adherence and PSS groups for adults, adolescents and children
  • Accurate and timely submission of reports
  • Perform other duties that are assigned by the administration

Educational Qualifications, Work Experience and Key Competencies

  • Degree in Social Work/Pastoral Care and Counselling and;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in HIV Testing Services
