Job Summary
Provide HIV Testing Services (HTS) to adults and children at the health facilities
Support Provider Initiated Testing and Counseling (PITC) for infants, children and adolescents in all encounters children have with healthcare services.
Support outreach initiatives to systematically integrate Provider-Initiated Testing and Counselling and Client Initiated Testing and Counselling (CITC)
Ensure HTS is provided with quality assurance and quality improvement
Ensure that the HTS registers are completed correctly and timely
Support HTS at health facility and Linkage of patients to care and treatment
Participate in technical and capacity building for lay counsellors on HTS
Positions will be in Mohales’hoek, Mafeteng and Maseru
Job Responsibilities/Essential Duties:
§ Provide HTS services at facility and outreach sites
§ Supporting HTS initiatives (to all age groups and outreach targeted testing)
§ Improving HTS delivery, patient tracking, patient management, and patient initiation
§ Improve identification and sample collection for HIV exposed infants EGPAF supported districts
§ Improve linkages of all those identified HIV positive (adults, children and adolescents) for initiation of treatment
§ Implement QA/QC for HIV Testing to ensure quality of HIV testing program
§ Support outreach activities in HIV Testing Services
§ Provide mentorship and supportive supervision to Lay Counsellors in HIV Testing Services
§ Facilitate proper documentation of all registers such as HTS, ART and Under five registers
§ Any other duties assigned by the District Team Lead
§ Compile monthly HTS reports and make sure that HTS Coverage targets are met
Required Qualifications
§ Degree in Pastoral Care and Counselling or Social Work
§ Experience or training in HIV Testing and Counseling
