SUN JV (a joint venture among SINOHYDRO BUREAU 8 CO., LTD, SINOHYDRO BUREAU 14 CO., LTD., UNIK CIVIL ENGINEERING PTY LTD., and NTHANE BROTHERS PTY LTD.) is the Contractor for the Construction of Polihali Dam and Appurtenant Works under the Lesotho Highlands Water Project – Phase II.
The scope of work includes construction of a concrete-faced rockfill dam at Polihali, approximately 1 km downstream of the confluence of the Khubelu and Senqu (Orange) Rivers, a saddle dam, and a gravity tunnel connecting Polihali Reservoir to Katse Reservoir.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions:
HSE Manager (x1)
Position Overview
Responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of Safety, Health, and Environmental Systems on a large-scale dam construction project.
Experience Requirements
• Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Safety Advisor, Officer, or Manager on major infrastructure projects
• Demonstrated experience in:
– SHE system implementation
– HIRA, risk assessments, and method statements
– Site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews
– Safety inductions and toolbox talks
– SHE incident investigations
– Emergency preparedness and response
– SHE reporting and documentation
Qualifications
• NEBOSH International Diploma in Health and Safety; or
• National Diploma in Safety Management (NADSAM) – RSA; or
• Equivalent nationally recognized qualification (proof required)
Additional Health & Safety Certifications
• HIRA
• Accident/Incident Investigation (e.g., IRCA RCAT)
• Supervisor Training
• First Aid Level 2 (OHS Act 85 of 1993)
• SAQA-accredited Fall Arrest Certification
Technical Knowledge
• Lesotho Labour Code (Health & Safety)
• OHS Act 85 of 1993 and 2014 Construction Regulations
• SANS 10085
• SHEQ systems and environmental compliance
• Incident causation and prevention
• Computer literacy and strong reporting skills
Professional Registration
Registered as one of the following:
• Chartered Member of IOSH; or
• Chartered Member of SAIOH; or
• CHSM / Pr.CHSA with SACPCMP; or
• Equivalent professional registration (proof required)
