Scalabrini seeks to appoint a Business Skills Manager Work to be based in Scalabrini Centre of Cape Town.

Reports to: Manager – Employment Access Programme

Work Hours: 40 hours

The Business Skills Manager will conduct training and mentorships in relation to business skills as well as build networks and partnerships within the informal sector.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Curriculum development, facilitation, and coordination of business skills courses
Select candidates and disburse Business Growth Grant
Mentorship of Business owners
Networking and relationship building
Report and proposal writing
Manage processes and administration of the project
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Tertiary degree in business or relevant field and/or have owned/ run a successful business
Excellent understanding of the informal sector.
Understanding of barriers for vulnerable micro-enterprises and business owners
Strong facilitation skills that ensure vulnerable individuals, especially women and youth, are specifically supported to find their voice.
Experience in curriculum design
Strong understanding of business finance and marketing systems for micro/small businesses.
General:
Own car and drivers license essential
Evidence of labor market and informal sector connections and networks highly advantageous
Strong communication, organizational skills, and computer literacy
Two recent and contactable references, one of which must be work-related
High energy individual, with a drive for detail, reliable, and able to work independently in the field and as part of a highly motivated team
Experience working with refugees and migrants business owners is desirable but not essential.
