The Amy Foundation, formerly Amy Biehl Foundation,  Cape Town, is a non-profit organisation that offers programmes which develop and empower youngsters, aged 5 – 35 yrs from challenged and vulnerable communities.Our after school programmes in Gugulethu and Bonteheuwel provide an environment that allows school-going children to overcome shortcomings in their education, by focusing on creativity. The Amy Foundation aims to make learning enjoyable while fostering the drive to academic success. Helps young adults prepare for the world of work, employment and entrepreneurship.

Amy Foundation seeks to appoint the HR Manager to be based at their Head Office in Sybrand Park.

The purpose of this position is to develop policy and plans that directs, coordinates and administers human resources activities of the organisation, such as employment, compensation, labour relations, regulatory compliance, benefits, training, and employee services

Report to: Chief Operations Officer

Responsibilities:
Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business plan.
Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues.
Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures throughout the organisation.
Manage the recruitment and selection process.
Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
Assess training needs of staff members and organize learning and development programs.
Provide appropriate reports to executive and management through HR metrics.
Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management process.
Review HR departmental budgets and costs.
Provide support and guidance to HR Officer.
Measurements:
Quality, cost, delivery, safety and morale ( QCDSM) measures

Requirements:
Require some experience in the HR field; usually up to 3 years of work experience as an HR generalist or assistant is necessary. Require excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal relations skills. A firm grasp of employee and labor laws
Up to 5 years’ experience as an HR Manager with proven experience in labour laws
Ability to use HR software
Degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field
BSc degree in Human Resources Management or Organizational/Industrial Psychology
Required Skills:
People orientated and results driven
Excellent listening, negotiation and communication skills
Knowledge of HR systems and procedures
Knowledge of RSA labour laws and best practices
Ability to foster healthy employee relationships
Valid drivers licence and ability to drive
