Overall Job Function:
HMIS Officer will contribute to NUL and ICAP’s efforts in strengthening MoH capacity by establishing robust national HMIS through technical assistance and skill transfer at all levels. At central MoH level, the HMIS Officer will assist MoH with further development and implementation of DHIS2 and eRegister and other health information systems and in conducting training and mentorship for the users of these systems. At district and facility level, the HMIS Officer will assist MOH in conducting training and mentoring of systems users.

Responsibilities:
In accordance with NUL, MACS HMIS operational plans and under the direct
supervision of NUL HMIS manager, the incumbent is responsible for, but not
necessarily limited to the following:
 Assist MoH in strengthening the HMIS and its performance at the
national, districts and facility level through provision of Technical Assistance (TA) in further development and implementation of eRegister, DHIS2 , and other health information systems.
 Provide TA to MoH in troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware
being used for eRegister, DHIS2 and other health information systems
implementation.
 Work closely with the system development teams and assist in further
customization of eRegister, DHIS2 and other health information systems.
 Contribute to the development and updating of standard operating
procedures (SOP) and other relevant documents for eRegister, DHIS2 and other health information systems management, maintenance and troubleshooting, and to enhance collection, analysis and use of quality data.
 Contribute to develop and update eRegister, DHIS2 and other health information systems training curriculum and training materials.
 Provide TA to MoH in organizing and facilitating eRegister, DHIS2 and other health information systems user’s training.
 Provide TA to MoH by regularly mentoring eRegister, DHIS2 and other
health information systems users at central, district and facility level.
 Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Travel Requirements:
The position will require frequent travel to various districts and health facilities within the Kingdom of Lesotho.

Remuneration:
The University offers salaries and other benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Employment type:
One (1) year contract. This contract is renewable contingent on performance
and funding availability.
