JOB TITLE        :           HIV and AIDS Manager

JOB PURPOSE

To have established and improved delivery of STI, HIV and AIDS clinical services with the Health Sector.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To improve access to comprehensive care and support for people living and affected by HIV and AIDS.
  2. To provide appropriate care, support and treatment of HIV and AIDS infected persons and those affected by TB, STIs, HIV & AIDS and other opportunistic infections.
  3. To reduce the incidence of occupational exposure to HIV and other infectious microbes and sexually transmitted infections.

KEY PERFORMANCE OUTPUTS

  • Developed STI, HIV & AIDS clinical policies, guidelines and training manuals.
  • Coordinated STI, HIV & AIDS clinical services.
  • Developed operational divisional work plan.
  • Coordinated drug procurement and management system.
  • Coordinated capacity building of health workers on STI, HIV & AIDS.
  • Monitored and Evaluated STI and HIV clinical services.

COMPETENCES

Knowledge

  • Postgraduate Degree on Social Sciences and/or Health Sciences and/or Public Health. 5 to 10 years working experience within the HIV & AIDS field. 3 to 5 years working experience in Public Health only after completing the postgraduate degree in Social Sciences or Public Health.

Duration and Remuneration:

This position is performance based and is for (1) year period, with a possibility of an extension based on performance and availability of funding.

The salary for this position is market related, but will also be commensurate with requisite qualifications and experience.
