HISP (Health information Systems Program) is a global network of people, entities and organisations that design, implement and sustain Health Information Systems. As a network, HISP globally follows a participatory approach to support local management of healthcare delivery and information flows, and was established by the Department of Informatics at the University of Oslo.
HISP-SA seeks to appoint a Manager for Corporate Services, to be based in Pretoria, South Africa.
The purpose of the position is to work primarily in a donor funded project environment, complex ICT & health regulated environment, pressurised and deadline driven, matrix reporting, customer centric, and we are currently undergoing transformation with priority to align with B-BBEE.
Responsibilities:
- Head the operations and corporate services portfolio of the organization that includes the following functions/units: Organizational Performance, M&E & Risk Management, Human Resources and Facility Management; Legal and Corporate Governance Policies
- Drive the People Agenda aligned to the HISP strategy with relevant measurements
- Develop HR Strategy that aligns with overall HISP business goals and objectives premised on a transformation agenda, staff talent development to deliver on business objectives; and provide guiding principles for succession planning
- Develop and ensure HISP workforce management practices are efficient and state of the art
- Lead Organizational Development interventions (Transformation strategy, Performance management) to optimize effectiveness
- Ensure that organisational development processes support benchmarking and improved organisational efficiencies and aligned with King IV corporate governance principles
- Ensure that reward and recognition practices are appropriate and efficient
- Continuous improvement of employee wellness practices
- Develop, consult, maintain- and implement corporate governance related policies and schedule of delegations
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and legal requirements as well as sound business practices
- Develop an organizational performance monitoring and evaluation and risk management framework in consultation with stakeholders
- Provide governance and secretariat support to the HISP Board of Directors; and support
- Reporting and documentation keeping for the board
- Function as part of the organisation’s Operations Management Team; support the EXCOM with
- Transformation agenda and B-BBEE strategy, chair the EE Committee and report to EXCOM as
Required:
- Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Law, Human Resources Management, Labour Law, Advanced
- Business Management
- Senior/ Executive Management qualification
- 10+ years’ experience in HR management- and organisational development where 5 years HR
- Exec level experience is required (as part of the 10+years in HR Management)
- Exposure to working with Board of Directors and matters related to Company Secretary
- functions
- Knowledge & Skills:
- In-depth knowledge and experience of overall Corporate Governance and HR strategic
- principles and practices; affiliation with Institute of Directors (IoD) Southern Africa will be an
- advantage
- In-depth knowledge of SA employment- and company laws
- Broad knowledge of industrial relations, performance management, employee remuneration,
- skills development, job evaluation
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
