PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Responsible for development and implementation of an integrated, sustainable and cost effective health program for Lomati Mill

REPORTING TO

The Human Resources Manager

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide a professional occupational health and primary health care service in the operation, within a legal, ethical framework, to ensure a healthy, productive workforce
  • Provide professional advice to line management with regard to health
  • Assist with the development and implementation of health policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with all relevant legal requirements
  • Build and maintain conducive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Ensure accurate and timeous reporting of occupational health issues
  • Manage the operational health clinic budget
  • Ensure appropriate staff deployment, in accordance with the risks to which employees may be exposed, and the inherent requirements of the positions to which they are assigned

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • General Nursing Diploma / Degree
  • Certificate / Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing
  • Certificate in Spirometry, Audiometry and Dispensing
  • Certificate in Physical (Evaluation) Assessment / Primary Health Nursing
  • Current Registration with the South African Nursing Council
  • Current registration with the South African Society for Occupational Health Nurses
  • Code B Driver’s License
  • Computer Literacy (MS Office)
  • At least 3 years’ experience in an Occupational Health environment

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • TB Course, STI Course and HIV / AIDS Management
