Job Description

Programme Management:

  • Overall responsible for the implementation of Health, HIV and AIDS and Nutrition project activities ensuring that services are delivered on time, on budget and in compliance with donor regulations
  • Ensure that the programme is implemented with regular liaison with local level stakeholders
  • Support the field team in the development of regular revisions to, and in compliance with, community agreements for implementation of the Health, HIV and AIDS and Nutrition programme
  • Develop user-friendly tools, project model adaptation and protocols to aid in program implementation by sector staff.

Mainstreaming and Integration:

  • ·Ensure the mainstreaming of cross-cutting themes in all World Vision International Lesotho Health, HIV and AIDS and Nutrition programmes, in particular the integration of child protection & participation, WASH, Livelihoods & Resilience, Advocacy and gender equality and social inclusion (GESI). 

·Ensure focus on Child Well-being outcomes, in particular the Health outcomes, in all Health programs.

  • Ensure the effective sustainable integration of Health, HIV and AIDS and Nutrition in all relevant World Vision International Lesotho intervention and ministry areas.

Technical input:

  • Participate, review and provide Health, HIV and AIDS and Nutrition technical input to the entire LEAP/Design, Monitoring & Evaluation (DME) cycle of World Vision International Lesotho programmes to ensure the achievement of the Child Well-Being Targets. Provides Technical Advice to the Integrated Programmes Director for Health, HIV and AIDS and Nutrition Interventions.

Capacity Building:

  • Provide Health, HIV and AIDS and Nutrition technical support to programmes and projects through providing targeted training, tools and resources on a regular basis to facilitate timely and quality delivery of programmes.

Strategy Development:

  • Lead in the development, coordination, implementation, reporting and review of the Health, HIV and AIDS and Nutrition Sector strategy for World Vision International Lesotho

Resource Acquisition:

  • Contribute in the process of identification, assessment and design of new programmes and projects, including participation in developing grant proposals, log frames, monitoring and evaluation plans and budgets in line with the LEAP framework.

Monitoring, Evaluation& Planning:

  • Support Health, HIV and AIDS and Nutrition sector programs planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting processes, with development of tools that can facilitate effective implementation and quality of integrated project deliveries.

Partnerships and Networking:

  • Establish and maintain prominent visibility of World Vision International Lesotho on all Health, HIV and AIDS and Nutrition platforms in Lesotho leading to World Vision International Lesotho potency to advocate on issues relating to Child Well Being. 
  • Pursue, develop and maintain meaningful and formal partnerships with Government, UN agencies, NGO’s, research institutions and other community stakeholders that will compliment WVISL Health, HIV and AIDS and Nutrition program.

Advocacy and Organizational Learning:

  • Establish and maintain an accurate and up-to-date Health, HIV and AIDS and Nutrition dashboard of the TP documents, resources, lessons and good practices, and facilitate their circulation and use within the NO, across the partnership and with partners.

Innovation:

  • Facilitate the introduction of new, innovative practices, methodologies or concepts in World Vision International Lesotho Health, HIV and AIDs and Nutrition programmes. Support other innovative projects and their research documentation and communication process, while side by side studying the room for expansion into other areas.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Medicine or social sciences.
  • Masters’ Degree will be an added advantage.
  • 3 to 4 years of experience in managing a Health project with demonstrated working experience in community development.

Competencies and skills:

  • Fluency in English.
  • Strong project management skills and good understanding of the project life cycle
  • Excellent understanding of Health best practices and life skills approaches in community development
  • Experience with development project management tools such as logframes, monitoring and evaluation tools and budgets. 
  • Good supervision skills, including training, mentoring and supporting staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report-writing and formal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Statistical Packages and Lotus Notes (or another main email system such as Microsoft Outlook).
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, and ability to work with a wide range of people from different backgrounds.
  • Emotional and spiritual maturity and ability to work with a team of professionals.
  • Good understanding of Sphere relief international standards.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to the Government policy on INGOs and NGOs
  • Ability to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in specific local cultural context.

Working Environment / Conditions:
•  70% Office-based
•   30% Field work
