JOB DESCRIPTION

To drive balance sheet efficiency and financial resource optimization through the following Key Performance Areas;

  • Allocate and manage financial resources to optimise sustainable ROE growth and deliver the bank’s financial plan.
  • To ensure sufficiency and optimisation of Liquid Assets and Surplus Liquidity. 
  • To manage and collaborate with primary stakeholders in executing Alco mandate and improve service delivery.
  • Liquidity risk ownership – to ensure that there is sufficient liquidity to meet existing & future lending requirements, and Group Liquidity Standards.
  • Own endowment risk management and strategies to sustain the performance of endowment book.
  • To provide strategic Funds Transfer Pricing direction and appropriate application thereof to the balance sheet that incentives the correct behaviour.
  • Strategic funding and development of term funding sources.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Mathematics or related fields.
  • Other Qualification, Certification or professional membership: MBA or its equivalent, or FMR or CFA

Experience

  • 5-9 Years Experience : 5 Years Balance Sheet Management (ALM) experience.
  • A thorough understanding of funding markets;
  • An excellent working knowledge of foreign exchange, money & capital markets and other Global Markets products;
  • A good understanding of Debt Capital Market (DCM) activities;
  • A good knowledge and understanding of commercial banking laws which includes exchange control, as applicable;
  • A good understanding of macro- economics and current economic trends, monetary policies;
  • A working knowledge of accountancy;
  • A good appreciation and knowledge of Risk Management, covering Operational Risk, Market Risk, Reputational  Risk and Credit Risk;
  • A good understanding of the ALCO process;
  • A working knowledge of capital management; An excellent understanding of Basel requirements
