Job Purpose
- Reporting to the Managing Director, the incumbent will lead the Retail and Distribution function and build profitable and sustainable client and stakeholder relationships ensuring that appropriate and innovative sales, digital and client strategies are formulated, operationalized, and executed to deliver on the overall company strategy
Job Responsibilities
- Formulate, manage, and execute the Retail channels, digital, and branch network strategy to deliver against the approved company, Africa, and Group business strategy
- Manage the profitability, revenue growth and out[1]performance of the Retail business by ensuring that the income statement reflects positive interest margins and non-interest revenue (Optimize NIR and NII) •
- Drive acquisition of prospective and new to franchise clients, retain and cross-sell to existing clients through sales enablement, relevant client value propositions (CVP), and client value management in order to maximize revenue within an acceptable risk profile and achieve market share growth in target value customer segments
- Grow transactional banking franchise through implementation of efficient and cost-effective distribution through traditional and alternative channels
- Infuse a team culture of putting the client first through programs, processes, and practices that drive the strategy of client obsession
- Ensure that the annual and 3-year budget is met by proactively planning, managing, and monitoring expenses and losses
- Ensure effective governance and control by adherence to regulatory compliance, risk requirements and internal controls and contributing to a company-wide culture of proactive risk management.
Minimum Experience Level
- 8 – 10 years previous financial services industry experience
- 5 years business unit management and people management experience.
- Experience in a matrix reporting environment will be preferred
Essential Qualifications – NQF Level
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Preferred Qualification
- Degree in Business Commerce, Finance, Business Management or related degree; and preferably Postgraduate Degree / Master of Commerce / MBA or MBL
