- Position Summary
The Head of Security is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the security strategy of the business, ensuring the protection of personnel, assets, and operations across the company’s construction and hospitality divisions. The role requires a proactive approach to risk assessment, crisis management, and regulatory compliance, ensuring a secure environment for employees, guests, and business operations.
- Key Responsibilities
- Security Strategy & Risk Management
- Develop and implement a comprehensive security plan covering all business sites, including construction sites, hotels, and other facilities.
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for the construction and hospitality operations.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for security personnel and staff.
- Ensure compliance with national and international security regulations and industry best practices.
- Physical Security & Surveillance
- Oversee the deployment and management of security personnel across business locations.
- Implement and maintain surveillance systems, access control, and alarm systems.
- Conduct regular security drills and training for staff on emergency response and crisis management.
- Investigations & Crisis Response
- Lead investigations into security breaches, theft, vandalism, and workplace misconduct.
- Develop and implement crisis management protocols for incidents such as theft, fraud, fire, or violence.
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies when necessary.
- Security for Construction Operations
- Secure construction sites, ensuring proper fencing, surveillance, and access control.
- Prevent theft of construction materials, equipment, and tools.
- Implement workplace safety measures in collaboration with health and safety officers.
- Security for Hospitality Operations
- Ensure the safety of guests, staff, and assets in hotel properties.
- Implement guest and visitor security measures, including luggage screening and ID verification.
- Oversee VIP and executive protection where required.
- Team Leadership & Training
- Recruit, train, and manage the security team across all business units.
- Provide ongoing training in security awareness, emergency response, and workplace safety.
- Foster collaboration with facility managers, HR, and local law enforcement.
- Qualifications & Experience
- Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminology, Law Enforcement, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in security management (e.g., CPP, PSP, or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Training in emergency response, risk assessment, and cybersecurity is a plus
- Experience
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in corporate security, law enforcement, or military service.
- Proven experience in managing security operations for construction sites and/or hospitality businesses.
- Strong knowledge of security technologies, surveillance systems, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Leadership & Decision-Making: Ability to lead and manage security teams effectively.
- Analytical & Risk Assessment Skills: Strong ability to evaluate threats and implement preventive measures.
- Crisis Management & Problem[1]Solving: Quick response to emergencies with sound judgment.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with modern CCTV systems, access control, and alarm systems.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong ability to coordinate with internal teams and external security agencies.
- Integrity & Confidentiality: High ethical standards in handling sensitive business information.
- Ability to work in high-risk environments such as construction sites.
- Availability for 24/7 emergency response and travel between multiple business locations.
- Physical ability to conduct patrols and inspections when necessary.
