This exciting position within a national Human Rights Non-Profit organisation, is looking to appoint an Executive level Finance  Director who will lead Finance, Risk,  Operations, and oversight of ICT, within this growing and developing organisation.

The aim of this role is to increase the leadership capacity, provide strategic input and planning, and strong controls over operational issues as well as for finance, governance and fiscal management.   Ideally you will be a person who has vision and capacity to see areas of improvement, solutions to issues, and methods of motivation and development of improved policies. You will manage the finance team, be responsible for excellent management reporting, monitoring and evaluation of outputs, investments, risk, audits and internal controls.

OVERALL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Strategic planning, management experience and direction at Executive level
Working within the Board, particularly the Executive Director, to ensure appropriate investment and fiduciary services for optimal management of financial assets
Accountability for budgets, forecasting, audits  and related financial statutory and fiscal administration.
Monitoring of Financial Performance, including that of investments and all aspects of agreed financial indicators
Management and support of the Finance Manager and team as well as oversight and support of the Operations Manager, who handles Procurement, vendor relationships and control of preferred suppliers.
Work within the executive management team to facilitate technical advice on the extension of services, resources, policies and systems.
Provide analytical reporting to the management team and the Board, regarding operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Build Capacity within the staff and the team, to provide operational excellence and performance for stakeholders.
Provide leadership to staff in building a collaborative team culture, for personal development and effective performance.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS  REQUIRED:-
Preference for a CA SA, or Advanced (Masters) Tertiary degree in Finance and Management along with a MINIMUM of 10 years of FINANCIAL AND STAFF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE, at least FIVE years at SENIOR MANAGEMENT LEVEL.
Experience will include strong Audit, Compliance, and excellent Management reporting skills within the NPO sector as well as analytical and interpretive data skills
Excellent overall financial management expertise and control of investments and funds
Excellent people leadership skills and adept and flexible at building successful teams.
Experience with change management of organizational settings, including both logical frameworks and systems
Experience in operational management such as Procurement, and IT.
High level of IT proficiency relevant to computer applications and Reporting, possibly with SAP experience
Experience in strategic planning and policy development
A positive, communicative and team-oriented working style is essential, along with the passion and interest of working in an organisation working towards an equitable community in South Africa.
Preference for a person who will enable the organisation to retain BEEE status
