An opportunity exists to join this Investor in People Company in the above capacity. Metropolitan Lesotho is a wholly owned subsidiary of Momentum Metropolitan Group, a company registered on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. We are currently looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual for the position of Head of Distribution- Life based in Maseru, Lesotho.  The incumbent will report directly to the Managing Director.

Role Purpose

To formulate, develop and execute key growth sales strategies for the Business Area, through sales teams to ensure annual sales targets are achieved.

Requirements

  • Post Graduate Degree in Finance, Marketing or Business Management or related field.
  • MBA (preferred)
  • 8-10 years’ experience in life insurance
  • 5- 7 years’ experience in senior management experience in a multi-channel environment 
  • Exposure to product development and client engagement 
  • Knowledge of the legislative impact on the insurance industry

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Develop and package the segment Client Value Proposition (CVP), products and solutions to ensure that operational considerations are incorporated into the development process to ensure fit for client solutions.
  2. Drive the achievement of sales targets across products and market channels to achieve set financial goals.
  3. Monitor and track expenditure and pricing models to maximise cost-benefit ratios in the context of own functional value-chain.
  4. Develop effective short, medium, and long-term distribution strategic plans to achieve segment targets and effectively manage client experience and lifecycle from on-boarding to termination.
  5. Provide the strategic direction for the design and development of the distribution architecture that enable sales strategies and supports strategic objectives.
  6. Develop operational plans that effectively identify and develop broker networks as a key distribution strategic partner.
  7. Develop and maintain a winning and fit-for-purpose portfolio management strategy to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and create a positive experience for clients, brokers.
  8. Oversee the implementation tactics to drive the generation of new business in line with the ethos of client centricity and legislative requirements.
  9. Ensure that the functional strategy is adequately budgeted for through the development and implementation of a fit for purpose budget.
  10. Influence the implementation of effective financial control, management of costs and corporate governance in functional area of accountability.
  11. Execute effective workforce planning practices to ensure that staffing requirements are accurately forecasted.
  12. Select and recruit suitably qualified talent in line with equity and fairness legislation principles and organisational values.
  13. Create a positive work climate and culture to energise employees.
  14. Demonstrate exemplary leadership behaviour, through personal involvement, commitment, and dedication in support of organisational values.
