An opportunity exists to join this Investor in People Company in the above capacity. Metropolitan Lesotho is a wholly owned subsidiary of Momentum Metropolitan Group, a company registered on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. We are currently looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual in the position of Head of Corporate Services based in Maseru, Lesotho. The incumbent will report directly to the Managing Director
Role Purpose
Identify principal laws, regulations and guidelines applicable to the company and manage the company’s compliance with same as well as perform Corporate Secretarial duties to the Board of Directors. Supervise the prevention of fraud and investigations into fraud against the company. Coordinate risk management activities including those related to anti-money laundering controls.
Requirements
- A post graduate qualification in Law;
- A Masters Qualification in Law or MBA will be an added advantage;
- At least 6 years’ experience in Legal, Compliance and or Governance roles 3 of which were in a senior or executive level;
- In-depth knowledge of the industry standards and regulations
- An analytical mind to see complexities of procedures and regulations
- Excellent communication skills.
- Meet all regulatory requirements (Fit & Proper certification from the Central Bank of Lesotho).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance management
- Perform Legal and Contracts Management duties
- Be responsible for Company Secretarial duties
- Assess the business’s future ventures to identify possible compliance risks
- Revise procedures, reports etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues
- Contribute to strategic planning processes to ensure that plans are informed by high quality governance, compliance and risk management advice.
- Provide expert leadership and strategic direction regarding the governance framework including oversight of corporate compliance, Metropolitan policies and practices and ethical standards to assure integrity of the organisation’s total operations
