Introduction

Metropolitan Lesotho, a subsidiary of Momentum Metropolitan Holdings (listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange), is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated professional to fill the position of Head of Corporate, based in Maseru.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Director.

Role Purpose
To develop and implement distribution strategies across various channels to drive sales, increase market penetration, improve productivity, and enable operational sales excellence.
The role also involves maintaining strong relationships with administrators, brokers, consultants, prospects, and clients to attract, retain, and grow both new and existing business in alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Management, or a related field (required).
- CFP certification will be an added advantage.
- MBA or equivalent qualification is an added advantage.
- Professional qualification in Long-Term Insurance will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 7–10 years’ managerial experience in the insurance, pensions, or investments industry with a strong track record in Corporate Business Development.
- Proven experience in broker development and portfolio management.
- Strong understanding of employee benefits, product distribution, and product development.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, collaboration, and innovation competencies.
- Solid knowledge of laws and regulations governing the insurance industry.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and package the Corporate Client Value Proposition (CVP), ensuring alignment with operational needs and client expectations.
- Drive the achievement of sales targets across products and market channels.
- Influence pricing models and ensure alignment with profitability targets.
- Monitor and track expenditure and pricing models to maximize cost-benefit ratios.
- Develop short, medium, and long-term distribution strategies to achieve business unit goals.
- Provide strategic direction for the design and development of the distribution framework that supports sales and business objectives.
- Build, develop, and manage broker and franchise networks as key distribution partners.
- Develop and maintain a portfolio management strategy to enhance stakeholder relationships and client experience.
- Oversee the implementation of strategies that drive new business generation and ensure legislative compliance.
- Drive good governance practices and compliance within the distribution function.
- Engage with potential and existing clients to generate leads and identify sales opportunities.
- Provide market insights on trends, competitive threats, and unmet client needs.
- Manage all aspects of client relationships, including presentations, administration, and reporting.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment to maximize performance and employee engagement.
