 JOB PROFILE – HEAD OF AFRIKA TIKKUN OUTREACH MOVEMENT (ATOM)

OVERALL PURPOSE OF POSITION

Strategise and implement the day-to-day operations related to Afrika Tikkun scale-up and programmes under the guidance of the CEO of Afrika Tikkun NPC. Ensure a smooth implementation of the Cradle to Career 360° programmes (ECD, CYD, CDP, YAP, 360° Social Support Services), assisting in providing Scale-Up team and Subject Matter Experts with the environment, capacitation, policies, procedures, systems, and tools of trade to enable the conceptualization and implementation of programmes. This role will succeed into the Chief Operations Officer.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Strategy: Assist and collaborate with the COO and directly work with the CEO of Afrika Tikkun NPC Alef Meulenberg, to contribute to the vision for Afrika Tikkun NPC, consistently with Afrika Tikkun’s general strategy and priorities.
Building the team and change management: Participate in the growth and maintenance of a high performing, motivated team, leading and engaging the existing managers.
Partnerships: Maintain and expand existing and new complementary relationships with strategic partnering organisations to ensure optimisation of outcomes of the Cradle to Career model.
Internal relationships: Foster positive and collaborative working relationships with the other sister organisations of Afrika Tikkun (Afrika Tikkun Investment Trust, Afrika Tikkun Services and Township Fleva).
Management and financial oversight: Assist and contribute to drafting and managing the Operational budgets (centre budgets, programme budgets, shared costs) as well as the salary-budget, investigating and correcting significant budget deviations. Assist to drive the coordinated delivery and continuously improve the performance of the ATOM team.
Program Quality: Assist and contribute to ensure that Afrika Tikkun’s programming activity is of a high quality and aligned with the world’s very best standards. Ensure that the novel decentralized C2C model is of the same standard as the centralised model.
Operational Management: Assist and Coordinate with Strategic Partners, Implementation Partners and program coordinators that the Decentralised C2C model is implemented in line with the Afrika Tikkun values. Also ensuring that that the infrastructure of the Strategic and Implementation partners are maintained properly and provide a secure and safe space for staff and beneficiaries.
Human Resources: Assist with overseeing change management processes, deal with escalated Human Resources issues. Ensuring that the Human Resources Functions is implemented effectively and efficiently in the operations of the business.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum: Bachelor (Honours) degree in management, developmental studies and/ or business studies, or other similar related studies.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

The candidate should be academically trained in business studies and should have experience working in both NPOs and/or corporates in South Africa at a management level coupled with a minimum of 10 years’ experience with high level stakeholder and business management credibility. The candidate must have excellent written and communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills and a high level of EQ. Stakeholder management will be key, as the role requires working with different internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent must be passionate and well-informed about skills development, education and generally developing communities in a South African context.

LOCATION OF THE ROLE

This role will be based in Hyde Park, Johannesburg, South Africa and will require travel in Gauteng and Western Cape province, and very occasionally overseas travels.
