Head Chef
We are looking for an ambitious, passionate, driven, qualified and experienced Head Chef for our restaurant at Afriski Mountain Resort. You will lead a team in the kitchen and ensure that our food is of the highest quality. We hope you are ready to bring in some new and delicious changes to our kitchen and delight the guests!
Salary: LSL 6000
Area: Afriski Mountain Resort, Butha-Buthe, Lesotho
Education and Experience:
– Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a chef
– Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing a kitchen
– Culinary Degree or equal work experience.
Responsibilities:
– Cook menu items and be creative
– Recipe and Menu Development
– Maintain health and hygiene standards in the kitchen
– Maintaining food quality standards
– Portioning and ability to keep up with recipes
– Stocktaking
– Costings
– Manage the kitchen team
– Be willing to offer staff guidance
Personal Attributes:
– Attention to detail
– Good Communication skills. Must be able to read, speak and understand English
– Be able to work under pressure
– Must be hard working and punctual
– Have basic excel knowledge
– Willing to work with a Point-of-Sale Backoffice System
– Physically fit and mobile
– Able to plan, prioritize and delegate
– Ability to learn to use job related equipment and machinery within set time frames
– Able and willing to live at the resort
– Able and willing to work long hours on feet
– Honest, sober habits, conscientious, reliable
