HARDWOOD RECLAIMER OPERATOR (Scale C)
Sappi Ngodwana Mil l requires a Hardwood Reclaimer Operator to ensure the smooth running of the Hardwood Reclaimer, addressing all non-conformances, breakdowns, problem solving of the Hardwood stacking, reclaiming and feeding of hardwood chips to the digesters.
This role reports to the: Shift Superintendent Woodyard
The main responsibilities of this job are:
- Ensure the start-up and shut down of the plant
- Ensure the plant is running according to required rate and quality specifications
- Check auxiliary equipment regularly during shift
- Perform routine inspections and clean and or report defects as necessary:
- Remove blockages / foreign materials on the conveyor systems
- Identify abnormal / emergency plant conditions and take corrective action according to standard (BOP)
- Isolate plant as required (Authorized Operator)
- Perform house keeping with the team – focus on area of responsibility.
- Report unsafe conditions
- Understand and comply to the SHEQ requirements of the position
- Minimize environmental impact
The ideal candidate should have:
- Matric (Maths and Science) / N3 Pulp and Paper
- Experience in a Production Environment will be advantages
