Position: Hardware and Data Record Technician
Responsible for installing and configuring GPS devices on various mining equipment, as well as accurately capturing and recording fleet data to support operational decision-making.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & RELATED EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 2 Years’ Experience in Automotive, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Diploma/Degree in Automotive, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field will be advantageous
• 2 years’ Experience in the Mining industry, showcasing a deep understanding of mining fleet dynamics.
• 2 Years’ Exposure and use of Fleet and diesel management software i.e. AVA, AFS, Cat MineStar and Gilbarco.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Install and configure GPS devices on mining equipment including trucks, excavators, and loaders according to manufacturer specifications.
• Basic understanding of load and haul principles.
• Track material movements accurately in terms of quantity, source, and destination.
• Collaborate with production personnel to drive efficiency.
• Conduct thorough testing and quality checks to ensure proper functionality and accurate data transmission.
• Collaborate with fleet managers and operational staff to identify optimal placement and installation methods for GPS devices.
• Record and maintain detailed documentation of installation activities, including equipment specifications, installation locations, and testing results.
• Monitor and troubleshoot GPS systems to address any technical issues or performance discrepancies.
• Collaborate with the data analysis team to integrate GPS data into operational reports and performance metrics.
