HANDYMAN-PLUMBER
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Facilities Coordinator, the Plumber is responsible for performing maintenance on fixtures such as auguring clogged drain lines, repairing leaking faucets, replacing worn or bad fixtures etc. He/she also installs and maintains pipes and fittings, repairing damaged or broken equipment
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in LHLDC properties, including pipes, fixtures, fittings, and appliances such as water heaters, sinks, toilets, and showers.
- Regularly inspecting plumbing systems to identify issues such as leaks, clogs, or damaged pipes, and taking appropriate measures to address them.
- Diagnosing problems with plumbing systems and determining the best course of action to resolve them efficiently.
- Repairing or replacing damaged or malfunctioning plumbing components, such as pipes, valves, faucets, and fixtures.
- Using specialized tools and equipment to clear clogged drains, pipes, and sewer lines.
- Developing maintenance schedules and plans for plumbing systems to ens\re their optimal functioning and longevity.
- Ensuring that all plumbing work complies with industry standards and best practice.
- Keeping detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including documenting any issues encountered and the solutions implemented. Reporting any significant problems or safety hazards to appropriate authorities.
- Interacting with residents in a professional and courteous manner, addressing their concerns and answering questions about plumbing issues.
- Being available for emergency plumbing repairs or maintenance tasks, which may involve working outside of regular business hours to address urgent issues such as leaks or flooding.
- Collaborating with other maintenance staff, contractors, and service providers as needed to ensure the efficient operation of plumbing systems.
- Staying up-to-date with advancements in plumbing technology, techniques, and regulations through ongoing training and professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Education and Work experience:
Diploma in Plumbing or similar field.
