The GROW with Educare Centres project was incubated by a partnership between The Clothing Bank and Grow Learning Company. Both partners have a deep understanding of the core components required to establish successful, self-sufficient, independent business owners who are able to provide quality education. The Organisations vision is to develop a national brand of quality, aspirational, fee-paying ECD centres in low-income areas for children aged two to five years’. To achieve this vision, GROW empowers qualified, passionate women to own and run successful ECD centres with children and quality education at the heart.

The Centre seeks to appoint a Business Mentor, to be based in Cape Town.

Remuneration: R20 000 per month and Group Life Assurance

The purpose of the position is to provide support and guidance to our Franchisees in their financial and business operations to ensure the business sustainability of their ECD Centres. This includes assistance in the registration and government subsidy applications of their Centres.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial viability assessments (break even analysis) for shortlisted franchisee applicants
  • Complete sign up process with new franchisees
  • Prepare sign-up process with new franchisees
  • Prepare and sign off budgets with new franchisees
  • Financial mentoring of franchisees to review income and expenses against budget vs actual and progress on business sustainability
  • Assist franchisees in the application process for registration/reregistration with the Department of Social Development (DSD) and monitor progress with application process
  • Assist franchisees with Government subsidy applications and reporting process
  • Facilitate financial, business and life skills training for franchisees
  • Establish and maintain relationships with DSD and Registration Service Providers

Requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in business/ finance
  • Minimum of three years’ experience within the Business sector and preferably also has experience in the ECD sector
  • Business savvy and financial acumen
  • Experience and knowledge of financial reporting, budgets, bookkeeping etc.
  • Experience in facilitating training
  • Strong people management, development and interpersonal skills
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Decisiveness, initiative, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Must demonstrate Emotional Intelligence
  • Be open to cultivating networks, be open to frequent change, be passionate about our cause, value diversity and the reinforcing of others’ self-worth.
