Objective

This position is responsible for all Kick4Life site and facility maintenance needs, including but not limited to:

landscaping, grounds keeping, basic plumbing and electrical work, gardening cleaning and maintaining the interior and exteriors of all buildings. These duties will also include performing routine maintenance checks and attending to emergency maintenance issues at the No. 7 Restaurant, the Kick4Life Hotel & Conference Centre and all office and rented buildings.

Additionally, the position is responsible for ensuring the completion of projects by maintenance staff and overseeing the upkeep of equipment and supplies. Coordination of work with the team is imperative as is the establishment of daily and weekly cleaning schedules, repair schedules, renovation projects, waste reduction improvement, safety inspections, and other duties related to broader Organizational support.

Although the above responsibilities will be in the remit of this position, the key focus will be to assist the current groundskeeper in football field care and the upkeep of Kick4Life’s outdoor facilities.

Main Accountabilities

1. Area 1: Field Care and Landscaping

1.1 Maintain and develop all Kick4Life football fields, including mowing and treating routinely to ensure the optimal performance of the turf.

1.2 Prepare and line the pitches in preparation for matches, as needed.

1.3 Maintain the Kick4Life gardens to ensure their optimal health, including watering, fertilizing and advising on landscaping developments, where appropriate.

1.4 Maintain the appearance of the site, including but not limited to, sweeping the pathways and entrances, keeping the site litter free, and nurturing the planted areas.

2. Area 2: Building Maintenance

2.1.  Perform routine maintenance checks on all building spaces and attend to emergency maintenance issues at the No.7 Restaurant, the Kick4Life Hotel & Conference Centre and all office and rented buildings.

2.2.  Ensure the completion of projects by other maintenance consultants where appropriate and oversee the upkeep of equipment and supplies.

2.3.  Procure, assemble, and install Social Enterprise (SE) equipment and furniture to ensure maximum comfort and convenience.

2.4.  Ensure responsible utilities use in SE spaces upkeep

2.5.  Conduct maintenance work on all external Kick4Life Housing and facilities that may include basic plumbing and electrical work as well as maintaining the interior and exteriors.

3. Area 3: Equipment Management & Waste Disposal

3.1.  Assist with preventative maintenance planning, including the establishment of daily and weekly cleaning

3.2.  schedules, repair schedules, renovation projects, waste reduction improvements and safety inspections.

3.3.  Maintain a register of all grounds equipment and schedule regular testing.

3.4.  Store and maintain equipment to prolong longevity and ensure safety.

3.5.  Advise on the repair or replacement of faulty equipment.

3.6.  Conduct proactive waste disposal management on site.

3.7.  Maintain and replace dustbins to ensure Kick4Life remains clean at all times.

3.8.  Organise and manage weekly rubbish disposal to the dump site.

4. Area 4: Health & Safety

4.1.  Abide by and enforce all Kick4Life health and safety procedures in conducting work at all times.

4.2.  Assist management with health and safety requirements including auditing equipment and outdoor spaces, risk assessments and method statements for work to be undertaken.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

     Minimum diploma or professional trades qualification in Carpentry / Electrics / Plumbing / Building Management

     Minimum 3 years of experience in groundskeeping and building maintenance

     Experience maintaining grass football pitches

     Experience keeping maintenance logs and inventories

Desirable:

   Preferred degree in building construction / engineering / maintenance techniques

   Supplementary certification in a core maintenance pillar (i.e. plumbing)
   Experience working as a technician/maintenance manager at a large institution

   Experienced in maintenance control

Work Hours

This will be a part-time position, the hours to be set out by Kick4Life Management during the interview stage.
