  • First, you have to align the correct values (openness, kindness, and enthusiasm).
  • Second, you need to have a solid understanding of colors, layouts, typography, visual hierarchy, aesthetics with hawk-like attention to detail.
  • And third, you need to have a marketing mindset, designing for better conversion—understanding CRO (conversion rate optimization) and CTR (click-through rate).

As a Graphic Designer II at Axelerant, you’ll play a critical role in crafting compelling narratives, visually articulating messaging, and helping to understand the user and business needs. We’re looking for someone to own the creation and maintenance of our marketing assets and content to support social media platforms and culture marketing goals. From concept through execution, you will improve our user experience by bringing our brand to life and keeping it consistent across our various social platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube) while being in line with the social platform’s norms and trends.

One of the critical aspects of your role is a thorough understanding of the right balance between business, design, and our personas and serving our brand’s purpose, brand, and cultural goals.

A Graphic Designer II at Axelerant could progress to a Senior Graphic Designer role within three years.

Responsibilities

As our Graphic Designer, your responsibilities will include areas of design such as typography, iconography, color, illustration, and visuals. You will use your knowledge, expertise, and skills in all these fields to help our users successfully navigate and become comfortable with our brand.

  • Generate bright ideas, concepts, and designs of creative assets from beginning to end.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate brand/cultural requirements into visually enticing, easy-to-use, and emotionally engaging designs while adhering to the brand standards.
  • Conceptualize visuals for social media assets such as Instagram stories, reels, guides, carousels for LinkedIn, and stories across LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook paid media assets, animated videos, graphics videos, and more.
  • Scope, create and refine brand master templates and content format editing to ensure style guide adherence, etc.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated professional experience
  • Proficiency with Google Slides, Google Docs, After Effects, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and or similar illustration tools
  • Strong portfolio of interaction, brand, and visual design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of print & digital environments
  • Self-starter who knows how to collaborate and reach out to others for help
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and deliver refined designs in a pre-defined timeline
  • Be comfortable collaborating in design team reviews, sharing and brainstorming ideas with remote/distributed team

Special Considerations

All of Axelerant’s roles are considered work from anywhere. But, we’re mainly looking to build our teams around Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia unless specified otherwise. And, we typically expect people to have a two-hour crossover with 11 AM to 7 PM India (UTC+05:30) each workday for meetings and coaching. Further, our salaries are India-based with regional factoring, though some overrides exist.
