Job Description

THINK is a non-profit organisation committed to advancing health and well-being for vulnerable communities both locally and globally. Our work spans three central domains: research, health systems strengthening, and capacity building. Our focus is on addressing a wider spectrum of critical health challenges which include Infectious Diseases, Mental Health, Gender disparities, and building resilient healthcare systems in the face of pandemics and climate change. THINK engages with the local community, government consortia, and international funders to provide care and carry out cutting-edge work that has contributed to making a difference both locally and globally.

THINK seeks to recruit Grant Writing Consultants to assist with writing grants for South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Lesotho,  Rwanda, and eSwatini within the fields of Health (Infectious Disease and Non Communicable Diseases), Mental Well-being, Climate Change and Health, Technological Advancements, and Nutrition.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to : 

  • Collaborate with the organisation’s team to understand project goals, needs, and desired outcomes. 
  • Develop clear and compelling grant proposals that effectively address funder priorities and requirements. 
  • Craft persuasive arguments that demonstrate the organisations capacity to achieve the proposed project’s objectives. 
  • Create detailed budgets that accurately represent the financial needs of the project, including expenses and income projections. 
  • Write and edit grant proposals, ensuring clarity, coherence, and proper grammar. 
  • Tailor proposals to meet the specific language and tone of each funding opportunity. 
  • Review and revise proposals for accuracy and consistency. 
  • Handle sensitive information and organisational data with professionalism and confidentiality. 
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and standards in grant proposal preparation. 

Requirements:

  • A Master’s/ PhD degree in any of the following fields or similar – Social Science, Health Economics, Public Health, Development Finance, Epidemiology, or equivalent experience. 
  • Ability to convey complex ideas compellingly and clearly in writing. 
  • Strict adherence to deadlines. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and other relevant software. 
  • Proven track record of grant writing and securing funding.  


Compensation

The rate for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be aligned with current market trends.
