PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Identify and underwrite profitable accounts within underwriting limits under direction and guidance from the PCM & Senior Underwriter. Maintain and grow relationships with brokers under PCM direction. Manage assigned accounts, ensuring efficient document workflow in line with operational procedures
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Underwriting
- Underwrite business within underwriting authority through a rigorous risk assessment process which includes consideration of loss control, claims history and all other appropriate risk management factors
- Ensure adherence with all underwriting guidelines and referrals
- Provide accurate estimates and reports as required
Business Development and Retention
- Proactively engage with BRM’s to provide technical support for Branch business development initiatives
- Develop and maintain strong personal and professional relationships with clients and brokers
Business Operations
- Adhere to internal SLA’s to ensure operational efficiency and achievement of agreed customer service standards
- Receive all quotations
- Enter on preferred internal system
- Allocate Quotations to underwriters
- Assist with claims stats
- Assist claims with policy documents
- Assist claims with suspended policy numbers
- Issue Policy documents where required or verify policy documents with CPS
- Update Tracker for production tracking
- Ensure all files are audit compliant
- Credit control management with accounts receivable
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BComm – Risk Management
- Qualification in Economics, Risk or Marketing
