Governance Operations Manager

Overview: The Governance Operations Manager is responsible for several workflows under the Governance Operations portfolio including elections for the YPO Global Board, committee/councils, region, and network officers. Additionally, this role may be responsible for future succession planning, role-specific champion onboarding content creation and the auditing of Global, Regional and Network Elections. This role is involved in all aspects of Governance operations and delivery to the organization, including serving as a business partner with other departments, evolving processes and communications and supporting adherence to Policies and Procedures Manual (P&P) and other operational manuals.
Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Governances Operations Director to develop and deliver exceptional customer service and consistent best-in-class experiences with internal stakeholders and member leaders.
  • Responsible for the election/audit processes for Board committees, Councils, Regions and Network executive committees. Standardize processes aligned to best practices. Develop metrics and deliverables to ensure expectations are met. Refine as needed to improve efficiencies and enhance experiences.

  • Collaborate to develop Role-Specific Onboarding content and delivery.
  • Support development and execution of governance processes, policies, and metrics in alignment with the organization’s business goals and core
  • Be a resource to perpetuate alignment with the organization’s policies and
  • Provide and demonstrate servant leadership within the organization and the Governance
  • Ensure compliance with all facets of YPO’s published policies and procedures.
  • Perform other roles and duties as assigned from time to time.

Qualifications: SKILLS

  • Proven ability to work independently with initiative, to be resourceful and self-motivated and proactively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptionally strong administrative, and organizational skills; commitment to detail, methodology and accuracy; effective time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on proactivity, clarity, thoroughness, and diligence.
  • Proven characteristics of intellectual curiosity, responsibility, determination, creativity, flexibility, drive, and self-confidence.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and integrity of confidential and sensitive information.

  • Ability to identify problems, research alternatives, provide solutions and/or resolve issues in a timely manner. Anticipates customer needs and delivers with clarity.

  • Possesses a distinct global mindset, sensitive to local and international customs and protocols.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office. Hands-on experience in dashboard creation as needed. Keen desire to learn and apply new technologies and tools.

EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND

  • 3+ years’ experience in project management and interfacing with senior level executives delivering high-touch customer service.
  • 3+ years’ experience working in a global environment. Possesses a distinct global mindset, sensitive to local and international customs and protocols.
  • Membership or association experience preferred, with an understanding of governance structures.
  • Proven customer service experience where responsible for identifying and implementing alternative solutions and resolving issues in a timely manner. Experience handling challenging situations with grace and tact, navigating, and simplifying with a positive attitude.
  • Proven experience in supporting, stewarding, and executing multiple stakeholder goals and deliverables.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Coaching, project management certifications preferred.
  • Must be fluent in English. Partial fluency or knowledge in languages other than English helpful.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours as needed to accommodate members and team members in multiple time zones.
  • Ability to work for extended hours at a computer screen.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, domestically and internationally, without restrictions, approximately 1-2 times per year.
