The Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT) is one of the largest biodiversity conservation NGOs in southern Africa and is seeking to employ a Governance and Compliance Manager. The EWT is looking for a highly efficient, organised and professional person to support the governance and compliance function in the EWT.

Purpose of the Position:
This person will be responsible for the development and implementation of highly efficient systems that ensure maximum compliance, productivity and a streamlined workflow. Tasks will include managing an online document database, document drafting, analysis and review, ensuring that donor contractual requirements are met, meeting management and minute-taking, as well as providing support in a range of other governance-related tasks.

Key responsibilities:
Draft internally required contracts and agreements and manage the process from initial draft to signature.
Review and analyse all proposed external contracts and agreements and make recommendations to Exec regardingwhether to sign or not.
Regular review of active contracts and agreements to ensure that contractual obligations are being met by all parties.
Manage, i.e. refine and automate, the EWT contract approval process and database to provide real-time, currentinformation for all levels of management in the EWT.
Ensure full compliance by the EWT across all areas of relevance (regulatory, statutory, administrative, internal andexternal controls etc) through the development and implementation of a compliance monitoring framework.
Manage the risk portfolio of the EWT in cooperation with senior staff and managers, to include the development andquarterly review of a risk mitigation matrix and plan.
Manage high level meetings in the EWT which includes taking minutes and managing meeting administrative tasks.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies required:
A degree in Law or in Commerce, Business Administration or Business Management with Law modules in the degree
Proven ability to develop strategies and systems and project manage their implementation
Flawless verbal communication and writing skills in English
Advanced analytical thinking abilities
Computer literacy in relation to Office applications (with excellent knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel) as well as theuse of the internet and online communication tools
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Ability to stick to deadlines and self-manage
Strong management skills and experience
