GIS ANALYST
In the Strategy & Growth Division

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the above-mentioned position. The position is in the Strategy & Growth Division, Maseru.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in the geospatial sciences such as in GIS, Geography, Geomatics, Environmental Sciences or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in GIS, preferably in the utility or energy sector.
• Proven experience in managing GIS databases, spatial analysis, and web GIS application development.
• Hands-on experience with integrating GIS into utility systems (e.g., SCADA, SAP).
• Technical problem solving & leadership skills.
• Valid Driver’s License is essential.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
GIS Data Management and Maintenance
• Develop, update, and maintain a central GIS databases for all LEC assets, including substations, power lines, transformers, and customer connections.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity in compliance with industry and company standards.
• Perform quality checks on field-collected data and integrate it into the GIS system.
Mapping and Visualization
• Produce detailed maps and visualizations for utility planning, maintenance, and reporting purposes.
• Create thematic maps to support decision-making in areas such as outage management, asset health monitoring, and customer service
Integration and System Support
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate GIS with other Corporatewide systems
• Trouble shoot GIS system issues and coordinate with it for resolution.
Spatial Analysis and Modelling
• Conduct spatial analysis to support route planning, load forecasting, and network optimization.
• Use spatial modelling techniques to assess risks
