Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the above-mentioned position. The position is tenable at the LEC Headquarters in Maseru and the incumbent will report to the General Manager Engineering.

QUALIFICATIONS
• BSc in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering AND post graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline

EXPERIENCE PROGRESSION & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
• Maintenance of Electro-Mechanical equipment
• Five (5) years’ experience in the electrical utility field, of which 3 years must be in a senior position

• Methodical and disciplined approach to work
• Disciplined and high integrity individual

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
The incumbent will be responsible for performing the following:
• Establish scope for generation projects and manage their implementation.
• Participate in formulating LEC strategies with a view to improve LEC business.
• Lead and coordinate Generation Department activities by demonstrating sound decision making
• Prepare, monitor and control the Generation Department annual budget.
• Evaluate generation plants conditions and coordinate & control the annual maintenance plans and schedules in line with the LEC budget.
• Prepares the Corporate Plan (in line with the Company’s strategic plan) for the region as a component of the Engineering contribution to the overall LEC annual Corporate Plan.
• Manage trouble events and propose plans for resolutions.
• Explore alternative generation sources to meet LEC demand.
• Perform feasibility studies on generation options.
• Manage employee’s performance and develop training plans to address knowledge and skills gaps.
• Monitor compliance to LEC Safety Rules and operating standards when operating LEC plants.
• Produce reports as and when required.
• Carry out root-cause analysis of power plant equipment and recommend way forward.
• Analyses data on failures, defects, and maintenance records to establish patterns and performance knowledge.
