The program will raise awareness of climate issues and the SDGs, leveraging the creativity of children and young people as agents of change. Moreover, it aims to provide exposure and support for promising children and youth-led solutions through:
- DISCOVERY: Identifying promising solutions developed by children and young people.
- DEVELOPMENT: Providing training, mentorship and other support to participants.
- SHOWCASING: Giving participants the opportunity to pitch their solutions on a regional platform.
- CONNECTING: Creating opportunities to engage with policymakers, United Nations agencies, civil society, private sector, and potential partners.
- RECOGNITION: Celebrating outstanding youth-led solutions through awards and visibility.
- SCALING: Creating pathways for promising ideas to progress beyond the competition.
Generation Hope Goals is a collaborative initiative by Save the Children, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation, ChildFund International, the United Nations Development Programme, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Regional Collaboration Centre for Asia and the Pacific, and the Youth Empowerment in Climate Action Platform.
*SDGs under review include SDGs 4 (quality education), 10 (reduced inequalities), 12 (responsible consumption and production), 15 (life on land), and 17 (partnerships for the Goals).
