Puma Energy Lesotho is seeking to appoint an experienced, dynamic and commercially focused General Manager to provide strategic leadership and overall direction to the business in Lesotho.
The General Manager will lead the company’s operations and management team, drive business performance and profitability, ensure compliance with applicable laws and company standards, and maintain strong relationships with Government, regulators, customers, industry partners and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing business strategies, plans, budgets and performance objectives.
- Driving financial performance, growth, operational efficiency and profitability.
- Providing strategic leadership and developing a high-performing management team.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company policies and governance requirements.
- Representing Puma Energy Lesotho before Government, regulators and other external stakeholders.
- Maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and industry partners.
- Providing overall leadership for HSSE, environmental management, quality and the Integrated Management System.
- Ensuring effective risk management, audit readiness, incident management and continuous improvement.
- Monitoring the competitive environment and identifying business opportunities and risks.
- Acting as the country representative and official spokesperson for Puma Energy Lesotho.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:
- 10–15 years’ experience in the petroleum industry, including significant leadership and management experience and exposure to different business segments.
- Strong commercial and financial management experience.
- An Undergraduate University Degree in Business, Commerce, Management or a relevant discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams and delivering business results.
- Experience engaging with Government, regulators, legal advisers, industry associations and other key stakeholders.
- Experience or training in crisis management and public relations will be an advantage.

- Fluency in English and a local national language.

- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a complex, highly regulated environment.
