Gendered Workplace Violence in the PHC Workforce Part 2 | Setting a Research Agenda: Learning from Experiences in Africa

As part of a two-part series organised by the African Regional Community of Practice on Gender and Health, the first webinar focused on policy frameworks for addressing and mitigating workplace violence in the healthcare context. This second webinar shifts the focus to practical experiences and strategies from specific African country contexts, particularly South Africa, Tanzania, and Burkina Faso. It will explore patterns of violence experienced by health workers at the primary healthcare level and discuss existing research gaps to prevent and address gendered workplace violence across different contexts.

Session Objectives:

• To explore drivers of violence in healthcare settings in the three country contexts in Africa.
• To initiate conversations and help establish a research agenda, with the goal of ensuring safer and more equitable working conditions for all health professionals on the continent.
