Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust (HACT) is a nonprofit organisation that provides unconditional love and hope to HIV and AIDS impacted communities in the Valley of 1 000 Hills region through interventions addressing prevention, care, community empowerment and income generation. HACT vision is an AIDS free Valley of 1000 Hills, and all our projects work towards this from the angles of prevention, care, community outreach and income generation.

HACT (Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust) is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Fundraising & Operations Manager to join its dedicated team.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Conceptualization and implementation of a robust fundraising strategy ensuring all of the organisation’s annual targets are met
Researching funding opportunities and the writing of grant applications, funding proposals as well as key internal and external communication materials including annual reports, newsletters and campaign appeals
Writing and compilation of all donor reports ensuring that each programme’s impact, key achievements, challenges, and successes are effectively communicated to the organisation’s grant-givers, donors and sponsors
Building and maintaining good relationships with prospective as well as existing donors, grant-givers and partners
Planning and overseeing all fundraising events and campaigns including digital and crowdfunding campaigns and the organisation’s annual Comrades Marathon charity campaign
Managing and overseeing the organisation’s projects and programmes ensuring that all project activities and expenditure are in line with annual work plans and budgets as per grant agreements and contracts
Providing close direction, oversight and support to the programme coordinators to develop and review their annual work plans and all other strategic programme documentation needed for effective programmatic implementation and service delivery
Undertaking regular site visits and programme audits to ensure the timely support the implementation of programme activities according to HACT’s objectives
Lead and participate in the development of monthly progress reports to aid the monitoring and evaluation of each project and programme
Assist in the hands-on training and mentorship of team members to ensure the acquisition of key skills and knowledge required by the organisation
Promotion of harmony, teamwork and the sharing of best practice
Continually reviewing programme budgets and identification of financial risks
Supporting the CEO as and where needed in PR, media relations and the writing and issuing of press releases
Representing HACT at key stakeholder engagement events & hosting high profile talks and tours of the Centre as and when needed
Overseeing the recruitment, selection and training of all fundraising and marketing department staff, interns & volunteers
Taking ownership for driving own career development by participating in ongoing training and development activities such as forums, conferences, workshops etc as and when required

Minimum Criteria:

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in fundraising with a proven track record in securing income and building and maintaining excellent relationships with a wide variety of grant-givers, donors and sponsors
A sound understanding of the non-profit sector and the broader fundraising landscape
Excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative management style and adept at working and managing others from a diverse range of backgrounds
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong project planning, management, budgeting and organisational skills
Ability to manage a busy workload and work in a highly demanding and pressurized environment
Deadline-orientated with the ability to multi-task, take accountability and demonstrate effective self-management
Integrity and a strong commitment to HACT’s mission and values
Passionate, proactive and able to inspire others
Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle
