Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Lesotho?
We offer:
Traineeships of 6 months within the Political, Press and Information Section (PPI) section of the EU Delegation to the Kingdom of Lesotho, starting in End November – Early December 2025.
The Political, Press and Information Section is responsible for political analysis and reporting, relations with Lesotho stakeholders, coordination with EU Member States and organisation of public events. It also covers press and information activities, including relations with media.
Main tasks:
- Under the supervision of the Head of Delegation, support the Political, Press and Information Section (HoD section) in the execution of daily tasks;
- Assist the Section in researching and reporting on domestic and foreign policies of Lesotho;
- Participate to meetings and produce related minutes and short reports;
- Contribute to the preparation and implementation of public diplomacy activities of the EU Delegation, and assist in the organisation of public events;
- Translation of documents of interest for the EU Delegation from and to Sesotho;
- Assist in the analysis of local (and international) media,
- Assist in identifying and developing social media content for the Delegation’s social media channels, and in monitoring online contents;
- Contribute to the update of the internal inventory of visibility material.

Qualifications or special requirements:
- Taking into account the local health and security conditions, applicants currently residing in Lesotho will only be considered.
- Demonstrated interest in the area of international relations, communications and diplomacy;
- Minimum: Bachelor Degree in political science, international relations, economics, law or communication; minimum final mark of 80%;
- Fluency in English and Sesotho languages;
- Knowledge of the most common social media tools;
- Maximum one year of professional experience;
- No previous experience in EU Institutions longer than 6 weeks
