LegiStorm is looking for a congressional outreach manager to spend most of their time reaching out to Capitol Hill, by phone and email to gather and enter information about Congressional staffers. This position will also supervise a part-time person in Washington, D.C.
LegiStorm provides accurate contact information allowing organizations and individuals to get in front of the right people in Congressional offices. We provide real-time updates on staffing changes, allowing our customers access to the most accurate data possible. You will be an integral part of that process.
In addition to your regular duties, you will be required to help our state outreach manager gather information on state staffers as we expand our reach into all 50 states.
This is a work from home position open to people in all parts of the U.S. You will need to work U.S. Eastern Standard Time business hours, and have a quiet home office environment with a solid phone and internet connection.
Qualifications Required:
· Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to quickly create rapport with different types of people
· Persistence to keep at it until you get the answers we need
· You need to be very comfortable and confident on the phone
· Curiosity and an investigative mindset are necessary as you navigate tricky phone interactions
· Experience working in a virtual team environment: You must be highly communicative and responsive
· You must be comfortable and respectful interacting with government employees
· You must be direct and to-the point, not wasting anyone’s time
· You must able to obtain and record accurate, detailed answers to dozens of questions
· Details are LegiStorm’s lifeblood and you must be able to correctly track and manage the smallest of them as you work
· You must be able to think beyond stated instructions to identify and fill in missing pieces
Qualifications Strongly preferred:
· Some Capitol Hill, political, phone or fact-finding experience
· Supervisory and /or project management experience
