Applications are invited for a suitably qualified teacher for the post of French and English Language at the National University of Lesotho International School. The school runs from Reception to Grade 12 (R-12) has a roll of over 300 students in the Primary Section (Reception –Grade 6) and over 200 students in the Secondary Section (Grade 8-12). The students come from varying socio-economic and multicultural backgrounds. In the light of the above, NULIS students sit for National (JC) and International Examinations; Cambridge Checkpoint 1 at Grade 6, Checkpoint 2 at Grade 9 and International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) at Grade 12. NULIS has restructured its curriculum to suit Cambridge demands, and is in the process of introducing Advanced Subsidiary (AS) in 2021. The successful candidate will be required to teach from Grade 4 to 12 and will be expected to participate fully in extracurricular activities.

QUALIFICATION AND SPECIALIZATION
Minimum qualification: A Degree in Education or equivalent with specialization in French and English Language. A candidate should have a teaching experience of 2 years in an English Medium or an International School. Must have taught IGCSE Curriculum for a minimum of 2 years. Prospective candidates who have attended Cambridge training workshops for IGCSE and AS have an added advantage. Incumbent must be computer literate and have knowledge of learning management systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To teach French and English Language from Grade 4 to Grade 12.
  2. To conduct extra-curricular activities i.e. clubs, sports and games.
  3. Must participate in all school activities and functions.
  4. Prepare lesson plans and reports of work done weekly.
  5. Administer tests, exams and other forms of assessment and prepare reports.

TYPE OF CONTRACT:
Permanent and pensionable for local applicants and contractual for non-local applicants.

REMUNERATION:
The University offers salaries and other benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
