Job Description:
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Freelance Health and Safety Specialist to conduct audits on opencast mining operations. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with opencast mining legislation and health and safety standards. The position requires extensive knowledge of the opencast mining industry, a keen understanding of relevant regulations, and the ability to provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive health and safety audits on opencast mining operations.
Assess compliance with opencast mining legislation and health and safety standards.
Identify potential hazards and risks and recommend corrective measures.
Collaborate with on-site personnel to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
Compile detailed audit reports outlining findings and recommendations.
Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
Relevent in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
Proven experience in conducting health and safety audits in opencast mining operations.
In-depth knowledge of opencast mining legislation and health and safety standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to travel across borders as required. (Must have valid passport)
Certification in relevant health and safety programs is a plus.
