Commemorative Blanket Design Competition
This year, the United States of America is celebrating 250 years since declaring independence on July 4, 1776. We are also celebrating 60 years of U.S.–Lesotho diplomatic relations.
We invite YOU to design a blanket to commemorate these historic milestones.
Designers are encouraged to thoughtfully integrate elements that symbolize shared progress, democracy, and American and Basotho cultural pride. Direct reproduction of national flags is permitted but not required.

Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Must be a Lesotho citizen
• Must be willing to sign a contract outlining terms regarding proceeds
• If the designer is under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian must sign the contract
• The design must be original and must not infringe on copyrighted or proprietary design elements
• Designs containing obscenity or other inappropriate content will be disqualified
Celebrate History Through Design
This is an opportunity to contribute creatively to a shared celebration of history, partnership, and cultural pride. Designers are encouraged to reflect both nations’ identities while expressing a vision of shared values and progress.
